Under the Integration Agreement we are permitted to enrol 5% of children who do not qualify for preference of enrolment. Once you have completed our enrolment forms, return them to school to confirm your enrolment. Six months before your child starts school they will receive an invitation to join our Headstart Before School programme.

HEADSTART BEFORE SCHOOL PROGRAMME
We offer a fun and welcoming Before School programme called Headstart. This is for new entrant beginners to St Peter Chanel School.
Children are invited to come and be part of the junior room, Pihinga, for one hour a week. All children are welcome 6 months before they begin school. The Headstart sessions run on Wednesday from 2pm - 3pm. The children in the programme are encouraged to take part in all aspects of the classroom programme during these sessions. This builds a sense of belonging and supports the children in their transition to school. It enables our children to get to know their teachers and peers as well as the school getting to know the learners that are coming into our kura.

Pihinga runs in a Learning through Play environment. Children are invited to explore and play in a friendly and fun environment and the teachers are there to facilitate learning.
